Dubai Dolphinarium

Dubai Dolphinarium is less of an aquarium and more of a marine mammal theme park: it was the first (and remains the largest) fully air-conditioned indoor dolphinarium in the Middle East. It’s very child-friendly, and although spectators can’t observe the dolphins at rest or play, families can enjoy activities and performances. The facility features one show pool surrounded by arena-style seating, three training pools and a 600,000-litre private habitat for the dolphins, plus a separate area for seals. Learn More

Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo

This sizeable aquarium tank, with the world’s largest acrylic panel, is guaranteed to make you gasp can be found in Dubai Mall. Of the 140-plus species in the tank, the sand tiger sharks are perhaps the most thrilling, looming over you as they stalk the darkest parts of the walk-through tunnel. If you take one of the guided tours through the aquarium, you might even get a shark tooth to keep (don’t worry, the management don’t pull them out – they just collect the ones that fall out naturally). The Lost Chambers at Atlantis

The Lost Chambers at Atlantis

True to the hotel’s name, The Lost Chambers are themed on the ancient Greek city of Atlantis, said to have sunk to the bottom of the sea. As part of the attraction, there’s a story woven in about how these original ‘chambers’ were discovered, complete with supposedly authentic relics on display throughout the venue. The theme, albeit fantastical, does provide an atmospheric setting, and the dimmed lighting ensures the illuminated tanks look spectacular. La Mer is known for its top seaside restaurants, cafés and plethora of ice cream parlours. Beach bars MASTI and Stars ’N’ Bars are at either end of the quarter, providing al fresco dining and drinking with magnificent views from outdoor terraces. The picture-pretty shoreline is lined with brightly painted beach huts and is open for swimming from sunrise to sunset. While patrolling security forbid anyone from a dip in the dark, you can still sit on the beach and listen to the sound of the waves long after the sun sets. This huge and wide beach boasts plenty of room for you, your family, friends, neighbours, neighbours’ friends and more to gather on. It’s teaming with activities including everything from skate parks to mini bungee jumping, highrope courses to a running track. Plus, there’s also the human slingshot from XDubai. Watersports are also popular and include kayaking, paddleboarding and water skiing to turn a lazy day into something much more adventurous. Plus, plenty of what’s suggested by the name. Want to walk or jog along the coastline? Kite Beach’s 14km track is the perfect spot. Grab a book and head to one of the quieter stretches of sand in the city. Not only will you be able to enjoy your read in peaceful surroundings, there also won’t be much else to look at. The once-clear sea views have been diminished by the view of Jumeirah Bay Island. If you’ve got a penchant for property, however, look in the other direction where you’ll see some of Dubai’s most stunning villas backing directly onto the golden sand. Forgot to bring your own novel? There’s a library unit on the beach and books can be borrowed for free. Many visitors to this sizeable space make a beeline for the Dubai Dolphinarium to admire those most majestic of mammals, but there’s much more to Creek Park than aquatic acrobatics. Firstly, there’s the cable car – a 2.3km route that gives you a bird’s-eye view of this relaxing retreat from 30m in the sky. Then there’s Children’s City – the UAE’s first edutainment attraction of its kind, where youngsters can interactively explore more about the world around them. However, you certainly shouldn’t overlook the botanical gardens and rolling lawns that are perfect for a twilight stroll. Despite being downsized for the arrival of the Dubai Water Canal, the green space off Sheikh Zayed Road remains one of the most popular in the city. On any given day you’ll find groups of families, teenagers, joggers, rollerbladers, yoga enthusiasts, kite-flyers and nature-lovers all enjoying the leafy environs. This is a family park where family can come and enjoy there day and specially the weekends. The white soft sand provide you with the opportunity to play and relax. People come here for the picnics with their families. The beach consist of toilet facilities, courts for volleyballs, a swimming pool and a very beautiful park. As of the low entry fee many people come from around the city and outside of the city. The total area of Jumeriah Beach Park is around twelve hectares. The park also contains the sitting places and play area for children’s. Beautiful chairs and tables make your picnic awesome. It is a marvelous painting of landscaping and environmental coordination. Looking down from an airplane, we could contemplate on architectural harmony mixed with a beautiful contrast of colors, where the blue gulf water floats on a golden shore followed by artistically designed green spaces.
